A reimagination of one of our favourite childhood objects, this memory box opens to reveal a physical photo album.

The box is handcrafted from reclaimed teakwood by Sohel of Solli Concepts, using the traditional and technically demanding dovetail joinery technique. Inside the box are 10 individual albums, each holding 36 photographs (4×6 inches).

Notes from the field

Sohel hand-selects the wood for each piece he creates. This box is made from reclaimed teakwood - already seasoned, filled with character, and sustainable.

Dovetail joints are among the most demanding in woodworking - "pins" and "tails" are cut to interlock so tightly, that they hold without a single screw or nail.

Sohel spends as much time finishing a piece as building it - sanding and hand-polishing it through multiple rounds until the grain is smooth and lustrous.
