Notes from the field
Champaben works from her home in Bhujodi, a weaving village in Kutch known for generations of traditional textile craft.
Each composition builds up in layers on the loom, as Champaben uses extra weft to raise parts of the design and give the landscape its dimension.
The colours and horizons of each series translate iconic Kutchi landscapes into cloth - pictured here is the Rann of Kutch.
